Decorating The Nursery

DSC01814 This to me was one of the best parts of being pregnant. It’s one of those things you really get to have fun with and also can be a bonding experience for you and your husband and/or your friends and family that want to help out. I started the process when I was about 20 weeks pregnant. Choose color scheme and themeDSC01854 – For me I wanted a very pale grey and pink on the walls and added more design and colors through bedding and wall décor. Paint the room. – I used Restoration Hardware paint in colors Putty and Petal. I painted 3 walls putty and one accent wall petal as well as the ceiling. Choose your crib and bedroom furniture nursery social – The furniture I purchased: crib, night stand, dresser and glider. There are so many options pending on your budget. A few good options are: Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Buy Buy Baby and any local nursery stores.. Picking this out early enough is key because some places have 2-3 month wait prior to arrival NOTE: For me it was ideal to choose a crib that was a 3 in 1. Where your crib can be used for three phases of your child’s life. Choose Bedding -I added my bedding choice to my registry. If it didn’t get purchased then I went online and bought them.

Choose Rug – Some people may already have carpet in their nursery so this doesn’t really apply for you, but for those that don’t there are so many options online: Wayfair, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Buy Buy Baby, Overstock etc.DSC01813

Add Wall Décor -Shop for wall décor that goes along with your color or theme of the nursery.  ADD Remaining Gadgets and Accessories – This is when you install the baby monitor, humidifier and any other gift keepsakes. Ali Blog Signature
